School Suspension

School bell rings,
I’m suspended;
Swinging from the ceiling.
Could you help me get down?
Drank too many, then tied myself up,
Hoping to drown
In all the rejection and hate.
Now I’m hanging with two feet off the ground
And no time to waste.

I’m holding onto these feelings,
Suspended and bound;
Feeling so high.
Confoundedly annoyed
I’ve let everyone down.

You are all that you are,
And so I’m turning blue.
Goodbye to the old me
Everyone thought that they knew.
I didn’t succeed at first, you’ll see that it’s true.
But now I’m just praying to be let down
By someone like you.

Funny all my life I’ve been put down,
Now it’s the only thing keeping me off the ground.
Neck snapped, back cracked.
Got to turn myself around and catch my breath,
But I’m starting to asphyxiate.
How awful is that?

The chair was supportive,
But this rope just won’t give.
Trust me when I say it hurts to die
As much as it does to live.

About humblefoot

Kyle Fisher (who often uses the alias Logan Rowley online and in his writing) has been enjoying writing since he was just 8 years old. His first formal publication was at the age of 13. He is now a spiritualist and openly queer author, perpetually searching for inspiration to create and learn more about the world around him. He is always drawn to the simplicity and uniqueness that life has to offer. He doesn’t identify with labels or socially constructed ideas about how the world should be. He believes that the world is your oyster, and that we all project our own destinies with the thoughts we choose to harbour about the universe. He is an idealistic, spiritualistic hippie who is just trying to find his place in this world, crafting each word to leave his mark, and promote love and equality among all people.
