Let’s get this straight,
You say we’re through,
But you wouldn’t say no,
If I came after you.

Well, I’m not a chew toy,
Feed the flames,
But you’ll never see me again,
I’m not that little boy anymore.

Let’s be the best we can be,
Let’s have a riot,
And for that you don’t need me,
To start trying.

Let’s help other people,
Let’s not hunt them down,
Let’s help them back on their feet,
Let’s not let them drown.

I’m a peacemaker,
And baby, love always beats hatred,
My heart was deceived,
‘Cuz you’re no heartbreaker.

The letters you wrote me were sweet,
But I’m done with your games,
You’ve raised the stakes,
I’m going to help those who’ll make the same mistakes.

So quit eyeing me,
I’m complacent,
You’re a whore,
And I’m getting impatient.

I want to spread peace,
I want to speak against violence,
I want to stop war,
I want to promote equality,

I want to be just,
I want to be fair,
I want you to hear,
That I’ll always be there.

When you crash,
And when you burn,
You’ll have me,
To whom you can turn.

Quit fighting,
Quit posing,
Quit selling yourself out,
Quit giving up,
You’ve got the power to change this,
And I want to help you get back on your feet.

I’m not a hunter,
I fail to feed,
But which path will you choose?
The path of righteousness,
Or the path of greed?

Put down the knife,
Take control of your life,
Hooking up is another way
Of fucking up.

You won’t like it,
When you’re the one,
Watching someone else,
Pull the trigger of your own gun.

About humblefoot

Kyle Fisher (who often uses the alias Logan Rowley online and in his writing) has been enjoying writing since he was just 8 years old. His first formal publication was at the age of 13. He is now a spiritualist and openly queer author, perpetually searching for inspiration to create and learn more about the world around him. He is always drawn to the simplicity and uniqueness that life has to offer. He doesn’t identify with labels or socially constructed ideas about how the world should be. He believes that the world is your oyster, and that we all project our own destinies with the thoughts we choose to harbour about the universe. He is an idealistic, spiritualistic hippie who is just trying to find his place in this world, crafting each word to leave his mark, and promote love and equality among all people.
